Coach Strother graduated from Abilene Christian University in Public Relations. He taught Social Studies and coached softball at Southwood for 21 years. He was the Assistant Coach form 2000 - 2007, Head Coach from 2008 to present. He serves as the president of Louisiana Softball Coaches Association. He served on the LHSAA executive board. He is an All Star Game Coordinator. He received his Alt Certification in Education from Northwestern. He is currently the Athletic Business Manager for Southwood.

He is happily married to Marti and has two stepchildren.
