Allison Hammond
Assistant Principal
Allison Hammond has been a proud Southwood Cowboy for 15 years. Ms. Hammond is Assistant Principal of Instruction and enjoys working with teachers, students, and parents. Prior to coming to Southwood, Ms. Hammond taught English and Speech for ten years at Huntington High School.
Ms. Hammond graduated from Airline High School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Secondary Education English and a minor in Speech/Communications from LSUS. She earned her Master of Education degree from Centenary College. She completed her Plus 30 from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. In addition, Ms. Hammond completed the National Institute for School Leadership(NISL) in 2018.
Allison is happily married to Gregory Hammond. She enjoys reading, singing, running, and spending time with her family.

Our Mission
The mission of the Southwood High School Sophomore Academy is to ensure students’ continued educational and social growth by focusing on content standards and strategies for success within the classroom, proficiency on End-of-Course assessments and ACT/WorkKeys achievement goals. Our objective is to place all students in a college or career pathway to maximize their opportunity for employment in a specialized and technical society.
