LaTonya Loche
LaTonya Loche is in her first season as the Head Track and Field coach at Southwood High School. She has been coaching track and for 11 years across different areas of the country. Loche came to Southwood after finishing her coaching career at Louisiana College in May 2020. Loche attended the University of Tennessee, graduating in 2008 with a degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice and a stellar career at Tennessee. While a student-athlete on the UT track and field team, Loche put herself in the record books on numerous occasions. She left as a 12-time All-American and four of the relay teams she participated on were school record holders upon her graduation. She obtained her master’s in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida while serving as a graduate assistant for the UCF track teams. She then returned to Louisiana to coach at Richwood High School in Monroe until accepting a position with the Louisiana College Wildcats as the Head Track & Field and Cross-Country Coach for both Women and Men from 2018-2020; as well has receiving her Master of Coaching and Athletic Administration and Masters of Coaching and Exercise Science. Loche knew her passion to coach and help young student-athletes reach another level of success through track and field was one of her key elements to success and happiness. That is when she decided that Southwood High School would be her new home and a chance to make a difference in young athletes lives. Loche was born and raised in Bastrop, La., where she was a three-year member of the track and field team at Bastrop High School. While in high school, she claimed six individual Louisiana 4A state titles, including three in the 100-meter dash. Loche lives by the fact that you must work for everything that you want, and you must be so good at what you do that no one can ignore you.
